Card Holder Tutorial by Merry

I've been waiting until after the Christmas rush to post this fab tutorial by Merry, following the tutorial are some of the cards she made to go in the folder and some of the cards made by other DT members in the lead up to Christmas.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all my DT members for their hard work at such a busy time of year and to wish them and you all a very peaceful and happy new year. We will be back in January with new designs and a brand new challenge blog - watch out for details coming soon!

Start with A4 sheet of card.

Turn up approx 4cm....allow enough room for cards.

Fold the folder in half and then cut a 'v' shape from the centre on the 4cm section.  Also cut a section (half a triangle shape) off each end of the fold up section.

Now punch four holes to thread the ribbon through.  Try to punch close to the edges to allow room for the cards to sit in the holder.

Thread the ribbon through.

To make the lace flower, cut a piece of lace approx 20cm long.  Then using needle and thread do a running stitch along the edge of the lace that you want as the centre.

Pull the edge tightly to gather up into the flower shape and knot the ends.  I then added a medium sized retro flower punch and a bling flower to the centre.

I decorated the front of the folder with my lace flower and the Love Dove image from Cardmadfairy Creations.  I coloured the image with my watercolour pencils and added some Kindy Glitz for a bit of sparkle.  Stamped up the letters to spell out the word 'Cards'.  Mounted the image on card that I have run through my Swiss Dots embossing folder.  Finished the front by edging everything with black border stickers from Sticker Store.

The inside of the holder with finished cards using more of Cardmadfairy Creations digital images.

Now here are some of the cards Merry filler her folder with, followed some cards by other DT members
